Construction is nearing completion for the Orange Regional Conservatorium and Planetarium.
The opening date is yet to be determined, but given the advanced state of the building it should be sometime before the end of the year.
With construction almost done, the projection dome was installed early September and the tender for the projection equipment infrastructure has been awarded a contact. The company, COSM (based in Salt Lake City) will provide and install their Digistar system. This is the standard system used by almost all other planetariums in Australia and New Zealand. A manager for the planetarium has already been selected, with two part-time staff and a number of casual staff yet to be advertised.
